Doing the most good, guided by evidence
We're a community that uses evidence and careful reasoning to find the best ways to help others, and then acts on what we find.
What is the best way to make the world a better place?
Effective altruism is a research-based approach that aims to find the best ways to help others. In practice, this means carefully considering how we can use our time, money, and skills so that the benefit to others is as great as possible.
The EA community focuses particularly on global health and poverty, animal welfare, and emerging challenges like AI safety.
